just can't wait to get on the road again...
belladiva have just wrapped up an exciting & successful tour of south-east queensland and northern nsw. the goddess divine tour was met with enthusiastic audiences, friendly locals and standing ovations in warwick, stanthorpe and byron bay. a big thank you to all our beautiful audiences and locals that we met and we can't wait to come back later in the year. the behind the scenes clip of all the tour fun and diva shenanigans is coming to the website soon.

fete for the senses
belladiva are gearing up for yet another performance as part of fete de la musique 2010. after the torrential downpour last year that rained out the main brisbane mall stage, we're praying for good weather and a big crowd. we'll make sure to announce a special 'shout out' to all those fantastic fans that turned up last year and had to go shopping for shoes instead of singing along to belladiva tunes. we're on the big stage in king george square at 12.30 on june 21. tres bien!

our very own blonde bombshell cass is a singing and dancing sheila in opera queensland's current production of the elixir of love at qpac in may 2010. make sure to catch this unique and patriotic production by simon phillips, set in the australian outback and featuring some of the most wonderful melodies in opera.

it's the most wonderful time of the year...
the gorgeous belladiva performed a stunning version of 'it's the most wonderful time of the year' at this year's iga lord mayor's carols in the city a the brisbane riverstage on december 5. see them sing alongside some the biggest names in the music business on channel 9, friday 18 (7.30pm) & sunday 20 (11am).

developing a mezzo-soprano
our sultry mezzo-soprano cass has been selected to take part in the prestigious developing artist program at opera qld in 2010. expect to see a lot more of cass of the lyric theatre stage next year as part of the elixir of love, the merry widow & aida. check out the program at www.operaqueensland.com.au

the ever-flexible michelle has been hanging out with those circus folk again & will star in an exciting new production at this year's woodfood folk festival called 'disturbia'. so, if you're heading to woodford this year, drop in & see michelle perform every night between 6 &10pm. don't forget your gumboots!

postgraduate prowess
mia has topped off a busy & successful year by taking out the linda edith allen postgraduate scholarship at the qld conservatorium of music in november 2009. she joins a prestigious list of winners that includes quite a few of the other divas too. congratulation mia!

top chorus
earlier this year, both alicia and milica sang in the abc recording studios to take part in the first ever recording of an opera chorus CD in australian history. released in august, 'opera's greatest choruses' was recorded with the queensland orchestra under the baton of johannes fritzsch and is currently number 2 on the aria classical music charts.

louise has been a very busy diva travelling to and from sydney for a top secret recording project with 14 of australia's best ensemble singers from brisbane, sydney, melbourne & hobart. this elite group has been exploring the previously unrecorded renaissance harmonies of robert parsons and is due to release their debut CD in early 2010.

a young artiste
Milica has successfully auditioned for a highly sought after position in the developing artist program with opera queensland in 2009. she will sing as an ensemble member with alicia in la traviata and then step up to lead in the ground breaking production of dirty apple later in the year.

yum-yum bubblegum
rising musical theatre star angela has recently finished a successful season of the mikado (qpac) as understudy to helen donaldson in the role of yum-yum. she quickly followed this up with a successful season of DIVAS at harvest rain theatre company. look out for angela this march as the narrator in their next big production at qpac, joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat.

a bit of china in brisbane
during october, alicia transformed into a chinese handmaiden for opera queensland's production of turandot (qpac). puccini's classic opera was the biggest theatrical event staged in brisbane in 2008, giving audiences a chance to hear the most popular operatic aria of all time, 'nessun dorma'.

pocket rocket
our own pocket rocket milica blitzed the competition on september 7 2008, winning first prize at the national operatic aria competion in canberra. this prize is one of the most prestigious in all of oz. if that wasn't enough, she followed it up a month later with a first place win in the south-east qld aria competition for the second time in three years.

angela in the city
brisbane's musical theatre sweetheart angela has wowed audiences once again as part of harvest rain's vocal quartet featured in this years carols in the city concert at riverstage on dec 6. keep a lookout for the beautiful brunette on channel 9, december 13.

sassy shakespeare
all through september 2008, three of the 10divas lived in the world of fairies as part of the qld conservatorium of music's production of a midsummer night's dream. alicia starred as the hapless lover helena, while jo and laura spread fairy love as moth and cobweb.

alicia has topped off a busy and successful 2008 by winning both the dr castellano italian operatic award and the linda allen postgraduate scholarship at the qld conservatorium of music. she will put the prize money towards further training with opera specialists in the big apple later this year.
